Kento Miyahara vs. Shuji Ishikawa from 2017

This was for Miyahara’s Triple Crown Championship.

You can kind of picture how this match would go down in advance. While that did take some of the sizzle away from it, it was overall still pretty satisfying to watch.

Shuji had the size and strength advantage, and that paid off for him early on. Miyahara fought back, and then it became just the two guys trying to finish each other off first. Shuji ended up being victorious here, but you could tell a rematch was in order.

It was indeed fun to watch, but it was missing something to really take it to that next level. It felt like they were holding back to a certain extent. [Shuji won cleanly via wrist-clutch olympic slam.] (***1/4)
